Privacy Policy
Vietnam SideQuest uses only the information needed to authenticate you, verify real-world quests, synchronize progress, and protect the service. We do not sell personal information, show behavioral advertising, or track you across unrelated apps and websites.
1. Operator and contact
Vietnam SideQuest is operated by Aleksandr Ponomarev in Vietnam. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to ponomarev@email.cz.
2. Information we process
- Account information: the identifier supplied through Sign in with Apple and, when Apple provides it, your private-relay or regular email address.
- Quest progress: completed tasks, XP, level, badges, selected city, timestamps, and server-verification results.
- Location: precise location at the time you choose to verify a quest. The app requests location only while in use; it does not perform background location tracking.
- Quest evidence: photos or short audio recordings that you deliberately create for a task, plus their file type and duration. Evidence is stored privately and is not published to other users.
- Answers: text or year answers you submit for quiz tasks.
- Service and support information: authentication sessions, limited security and server logs, and information you voluntarily include in a support request.
3. Permissions and collection choices
Camera, microphone, photo-library, and location access are requested only when relevant to a quest. You can deny a permission, but a task that depends on it may not be verifiable. The app does not access contacts, health data, payment-card details, or advertising identifiers.
4. How information is used
We process information to provide Sign in with Apple, deliver localized quest content, validate distance and task order, review submitted evidence, award XP and badges, synchronize progress across devices, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, respond to support, and comply with applicable law. We do not use quest evidence to train advertising or facial-recognition systems.
5. Service providers
- Apple: authentication and App Store distribution.
- Supabase: authentication, database, server functions, and private evidence storage in the Singapore region.
- GitHub Pages: hosting this public legal and support site; ordinary web-request data is handled under GitHub's own privacy terms.
Providers are used only to operate and protect the service. We require service data to receive protection consistent with this policy and applicable law.
6. Storage and security
Network traffic uses HTTPS, authentication sessions are kept in the iOS Keychain, and database and storage access are restricted by authenticated-user policies. Quest evidence is stored in a private bucket under the account's user identifier. No security system is perfect, so avoid recording private conversations, faces at close range, confidential documents, or unsafe situations.
7. Retention and deletion
Account data, progress, and accepted evidence are retained while your account remains active or until no longer needed to operate and protect the service. You can permanently delete your account inside the app under Profile → Delete Account. Deletion removes the Supabase account, profile, submissions, XP, badge progress, and private evidence associated with the account. Limited records may remain temporarily in protected backups, security logs, or records required by law, and are not used for ordinary product functionality.
8. Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, restriction, portability, or deletion of applicable personal information by contacting us. You can revoke system permissions in iOS Settings and delete the account in the app. See the account deletion page for alternatives if you cannot access the app. Depending on your location, you may also complain to a competent data-protection authority.
9. Children
Vietnam SideQuest is not directed to children under 16. A child should not use the service without the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. Contact us if you believe a child submitted information improperly.
10. Changes
We may update this policy when the app, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated, and material changes may also be communicated in the app.
